Summary of Frisbee history
Background & History of Frisbee
1940s – College students play by tossing empty pie tins from the Frisbie Pie Company.
1957 – Toy company Wham-O produces the first plastic flying disc called the Frisbee.
Late 1960s – Ultimate Frisbee is invented by students as a team sport.
1960s (same era) – Disc Golf emerges as a competitive disc sport.
Today– Frisbee is played worldwide, both recreationally and competitively.

Describe the basic history and origin of Frisbee, including how it evolved from a simple toy into organized sports like Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf.
Demonstrate correct technique for the backhand throw, including grip, stance, and follow-through, with control and accuracy over short distances.

No running with the disc – You must pass it to move forward.
Score in the end zone – Catch the disc in the other team’s end zone to earn a point.
Change of possession – If the disc is dropped, intercepted, or goes out, the other team gets it.
No contact – Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact sport; avoid physical collisions.
