Protagonist - hero or main character of a story
Antagonist - character or force that goes against the main character
Audience - person reading the story
Allusion - reference to well known characters, places or events
Analogy - comparison that shows similarities between two things that are otherwise unalike
Anecdote - a short story of an event from a person's life

Plot Structure
Plot: sequence of events that make up a story
Exposition - background information on characters, setting, plot, etc.
Rising Action - builds suspense, conflict increases
Climax - most important turning point, conflict must be resolved
Falling Action - tension lessens, leading to conclusion
Resolution - (denouement) final conclusion of the plot
Conflict - Struggle between opposing forces
Internal - Main Character's inner battle with self interests or morals
External - Main Character's battle with outside problems
