1. Past Simple

2. Past Continuous

• Zdanie twierdzące:

  • Podmiot + was (dla I, he, she, it) lub were (dla you, we, they) + czasownik z końcówką -ing

  • Przykłady: I was reading a book at 8 p.m. last night. / They were playing tennis all afternoon.

• Zdanie przeczące:

  • Podmiot + was not (wasn't) lub were not (weren't) + czasownik z końcówką -ing

  • Przykłady: I wasn't reading a book at 8 p.m. / They weren't playing tennis.

  • Was lub Were + podmiot + czasownik z końcówką -ing + ?

3. Past Perfect

• Zdanie twierdzące:

  • Podmiot + had + III forma czasownika (Past Participle)

  • Przykłady: She had finished her homework before she went out. / We had eaten dinner when they arrived.

• Zdanie przeczące:

  • Podmiot + had not (hadn't) + III forma czasownika (Past Participle)

  • Przykłady: She hadn't finished her homework yet. / We hadn't eaten when they arrived.
