​The Water Cycle Water moves around the Earth in a cycle. First, water evaporates from lakes and oceans into the air. Then, the water vapor cools and forms clouds. Next, water falls from clouds as rain or snow. Finally, the water collects in rivers, lakes, and oceans again.
