We use simple present for many things!

Permanent situations
DON'T FORGET! It is common to use Frequency Adverbs with this tense, such as Always, Usually, Never, Often, etc.

Some common mistakes we make
We only use one type of verb in the sentence. We use Verb Be or Action Verb, but not both of them.
We answer questions with the same verb that starts the question!

Verb Be in Simple Present
The verb Be is mainly use with Adjectives. We use them to describe things, people or animals.
Ex.: Sarah is an excellent teacher.

For questions, we need to put the verb Be at the start and put the question mark at the end.
1. Is she a good player?
2. Are we lawyers here?
Questions
For negative sentences, we just need to add Not after the verb Be
Ex.:
1. She is not a good player
2. We are not lawyers here.

These other verbs are used to talk about actions, not about states.
Ex.: Run, Go, Do, Think

Usage
Unlike Simple Present, Present Continuous, we use to talk about actions that they happen in this very moment. Also for:
Extended time

Near future or plans
For this, we use verb Be in present + verb in ING
Ex.: The doctor is evaluating the patient
