The perspective is a technique used to create the illusion of depth and distance in a flat image (drawing, painting, photography)​

​What is a perspective?

Used intuitively by greeks and Romans.

​​Empirical
representation

In Egypt, importnat figures appear larger.

​​Symbolic
perspective

​Objects farther away appear larger( Medieval art).

​​Inverted perspective

​Parallel perspective is not common in art, but we an find it in some paintings and in architecture. It is not realistic because our eyes see in a cone shape. Artists sometimes use it for special effects or tchnical reasons.

Leonardo da Vinci used soft colors and less detail for distant objects.

​Modern artists like Escher, combined several viewpoints.
