What Are Conjunctions?

A conjunction is a word that connects words, phrases, or parts of a sentence.

Examples: and, but, or, because, although, so

Types of Conjunctions

• Coordinating – join equal ideas

• Subordinating – show one idea depends on another

Coordinating Conjunction

Connect two equal parts of a sentence (two words, phrases, or independent clauses).
