Read Chapters 27-28 of Hittite Warrior
Assigned Reading:
Hittite Warrior Uriah told Merris the news of Hannibaal's death, and then introduced her to his friend Ahmoses. When she told Ahmoses she had seen him before, Ahmoses replied that she may have seen pictures of his family, which descended from the last true kings of Egypt. Ahmoses explained that if Egypt was as it should be, he would be Pharaoh. Merris said that she had prayed to Aton that she would see the true king before she died, and it had finally come to pass. She told Mehitabel that she must not marry Achil and should flee the city immediately. Uriah told her that if Jotham was alive, he knew where they could find him.
Mehitabel prepared to go while Merris gave Ahmoses the image of Nefertiti as her gift to her king. After leaving, Mehitabel realized that she had left her dog Zebub behind. Uriah agreed to go get the dog but he realized too late that Achil had followed him. In their fight, Achil was accidentally knocked off the roof and died.
Uriah returned Zebub to Mehitabel, and the young people left Tyre's gates. During their journey, Ahmoses told Uriah that he was returning to Egypt because the gods were leading him home. Uriah sadly told Ahmoses, his truest friend, goodbye. After a few days, Uriah and Mehitabel reached Harosheth, where they camped outside the city. Jabin found Uriah and told him that Tamar was well and that Jotham was now a hero because of his efforts in the battle against Sisera. Uriah asked Jabin to tell Jotham he had brought a gift. Before Uriah went into his tent, he questioned one of the Hebrew children about their God. The child explained to him that his God lived in the tabernacle in the Ark of the Covenant. When Jotham came into the tent, he was angered at the sight of Uriah. But once he saw Mehitabel, they ran to one another and Uriah left the tent unnoticed.
