Snowman Attack Game
Directions:
You will randomly be put into groups of 3 or 4.
You will have 60 seconds to draw a snowman on the board.
You will work in groups to answer questions.
Groups will be called on randomly.
If you get the question correct, you will get to attack other teams snowman; however if you are incorrect other teams get a chance to answer and attack.
Each group gets five lives. The winner is the team with the most lives at the end of game.
3
You will get to answer the questions together in your group, but be quiet so the other teams don't hear.
Get the answer correct and throw snowballs at three other teams' snowman. Get an incorrect answer and watchout!
Additional information
4
Once teacher puts you in groups, get out a piece of paper to record your answer.
Only those teams that have written an answer will be able to correct an incorrect response. (teacher uses a randomizer for the number of groups)
Get ready, set, go!

Zip lines can be used to move people and materials from one place to another. The picture below shows an example of a zip line.
Rachel has been asked to design two different models of a zip line. She will test two small scale versions of her zip line designs. Which of these would best show that a model zip line is successful?
The model can only be used in dry conditions.
The model does not break as an object travels on it.
The model takes one week to build.
The model costs less than $10 to build.

Question 10:
Peter is going to build a design for keeping an ice cube from melting for 45 minutes.
How will Peter know whether or not his design is a success?

Daniel designed the above house. However, when he built a model of the house, he realized that the weight of the second story made the ceiling of the first story sag.
What could Daniel do to fix this problem?
make the outside walls stronger
put an elevator in the house rather than a stair case
add more rooms to the second story
add columns to the design of the first story to hold up the weight of the second story

Ben is creating a design that will explore levers and fulcrums. Ben wants to see how changing the size of a block (fulcrum) will change the height to which an object can be raised by the lever resting on the fulcrum.
Ben's procedure is shown below.
1. find a ruler, rubber band, a small stone, and different sizes of wooden blocks
attach the stone to the rule with a rubber band
?
record the measurements in a table
What step is missing from Ben's procedure?
ask the teacher what she thinks the results of the test will show
measure the length, width, and mass of the stone after each test
find out what the stone is made of and where the stone was found
test the different sizes of blocks (fulcrums) and measure how high the stone is raised by each block
