Warm Up: 01/14/26
A volunteer will be randomly selected to do the following:
The Task: You must defend one of these "Undeniable Truths":
"I believe that 2 + 2 = 4."
"I believe that students should have a lunch break."
Your Job: Simply stay calm and stick to your truth.
The rest of the class will be given a separate task.

The Crucible Connection
The Big Question:
When a person in power cannot disprove the truth, why do they pivot to attacking the person's character?
Today’s Connection:
In Act 3, John Proctor brings a hard, physical truth (a signed deposition) to the court.
Watch for the Shift:
Notice how Parris and Cheever immediately stop talking about the evidence.
Watch them begin attacking Proctor’s character or trying to distract from the issue at hand.
Keep an eye out for any other fallacies as well! Don't forget to OBJECT!
