2

How do human activities impact conservation, habitat management, species endangerment, and extinction in the biosphere?

Your focus is to know the key words and how humans play a part in those key words.

As we go in depth with the key words, fill in your notes page.

Explain

Human Impacts on the Biosphere

What is the Biosphere?

The biosphere is all living things on

Earth and the places where they live
(land, water, and air).

4

Conservation

Cause: Humans use natural resources
Effect: Resources can run out or habitats can be damaged
Solution:

  • Recycling

  • Using renewable energy

  • Protecting national parks

📌 Conservation means using resources wisely so they last.

Habitat Management

Cause: Humans change land for farming, roads, or cities
Effect: Plants and animals may lose safe places to live
Solution:

  • Replanting trees

  • Controlled burns

  • Wildlife corridors

📌 Habitat management helps ecosystems stay healthy.

6

Endangered Species

Cause: Pollution, over hunting, habitat loss
Effect: Some species have very few members left
Solution:

  • Laws to protect animals

  • Cleaning pollution

  • Protecting habitats

📌 Endangered species are at risk of disappearing.

7

Extinction

Cause: Long-term harm from human activities or natural events
Effect: A species disappears forever
Solution:

  • Conservation efforts

  • Protecting endangered species early

📌 Extinction cannot be reversed.
