  • Most plural forms are created by simply adding an -s or –es to the end of the singular word.

  • For example, there's one dog (singular), but three dogs (plural).

  • Irregular plural nouns are nouns that do not become plural by adding -s or -es, as most nouns in the English language do.

Possessive Nouns

  • possessive noun is a noun that possesses something—i.e., it has something.

  • In most cases, a possessive noun is formed by adding an apostrophe +s to the noun, or if the noun is plural and already ends in s, only an apostrophe needs to be added.

  • When a noun ends in the letter s or an s sound, the same format applies.
