  A comet is like a dirty ball of snow. It is made of frozen gases, frozen water, and dust. As a comet approaches the sun, the icy center gets hot and evaporates. The gases made by the evaporation form the tail of the comet. The dust left behind in the process forms meteor showers.

Juneteenth is a holiday in Texas. It's also celebrated by some people in California and other western states. It can be traced back to the time Union troops arrived in Texas on June 19, 1865. They brought news that the Civil War had ended and that all the slaves were free. This put an end to slavery in Texas. Juneteenth got its name from some people in Texas who had their own way to say "June 19th." Their way stuck!
