Types of Characters

A character with a complex personality and we can see different parts of his/her personality.

• Flat Character
• Round Character

This type of character faces a major conflict in his or her life and this conflict changes his/her personality.

• Static Character
• Dynamic Character

This type of character causes a problem or is the problem in the novel.

• Protagonist
• Antagonist

This type of character is NOT complex. He or she has only one emotion or personality trait that can be seen by the reader.

• Round Character
• Flat Character

This type of character does not change because of the events that happen in the story.  He/She stays the same no matter what happens.

• Dynamic Character
• Static Character

This type of character has a lot of different emotions, beliefs, ideals, concerns, and thoughts that the reader can see.

This character is the main character in the story and has a problem to solve.
