A portion of the yearbook that carries a common theme/subject. Common examples are: Student Life, People and Organizations.

A small feature story, set off to the side, which complements the main story on a spread.

Facing pages that are linked in both design and content.

Copy near the middle of a page that is completely or mostly surrounded by photos or other graphics. This is a big no-no!

Blank Space on a page that is not covered by type or graphics. Done intentionally, it can be a good thing. But watch out, it can also be ugly.
