Is it fair for each child on a sports team to get a trophy? Recently, it seems as if kids are getting trophies just for showing up to the game. Instead of working hard and being dedicated, every kid on every team is getting a trophy…and they aren’t earning them. Trophies and medals are losing their meaning when every team within a sports league is receiving one. Kids do not earn honor roll, just for having perfect attendance. Why should sports be any different?

Citizens of the Fairlawn Park area look with alarm at the evil plot to change a beautiful spot into a baseball park. If this malicious plan is carried out, the lovely trees in the park will be chopped down. Values of the property within the area will drop sharply as the park fills with the filth and debris of the bulldozers and other equipment. Later the shrieks of the young ruffians who take over the park will destroy the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Obviously no one cares about the poor citizen who has slaved to pay for his home and to keep up with his taxes.

In fact, the recalling of new cars by their makers is becoming a routine practice in America. Instead of insisting upon safe, well-designed products, carmakers seem more concerned with throwing together shoddy automobiles and making a profit. Invariably, new cars need parts replaced almost as soon as the warranty expires. Unfortunately, people need transportation, so they continue to buy new automobiles.

Every student that attends Mount Ridge Elementary should have to wear a uniform to school. Students will not only feel less peer pressure to buy trendy clothes, but wearing uniforms will also show school pride throughout the entire campus (Go Ravens!).Safety is also a benefit. By wearing uniforms, it would be easy to spot an unwelcome intruder on the school campus. On November 2nd, each family should vote yes to uniforms!
