The Human Machine

How are a robot and a human body similar? Think of two ways.

• Our bodies are like robots because we have stretchy parts. WE can use our brain for energy nothing else.
• We have rods and strings for movement. We also have to run on energy. Our brains are like computers.
• We are exactly like robots. Our bodies are automatic , no need to think for ourselves.

How does light enter the eye? 

• Light enters through the retina and bounces off the iris and pupil.
• Light enters through the retina and bounces off the cornea lens.
• Light enters the cornea lens through the iris and pupil. It goes through to the retina.

Nocturnal animals can see better in the dark than us. How are nocturnal animals eyes different from ours?

• Nocturnal animals' pupils can get larger than ours. They also have a colored layer at the back of their eye that helps see more light.
• Nocturnal animals' pupils get smaller than our pupils. They also have a white layer at the back of their eye that helps them see more light.
• Nocturnal animals' pupils cna get larger than our pupils. They also have a white layer at the back of their eye that helps them see more light.

Explain what happened in the reaction time activity with the ruler.

• The brain sent a message to the eyes, :look at the ruler". The eyes made a decision to grab the ruler. The eyes sent a message to the sensory nerves, "grab it."
• The eyes sent a message to the brain. The brain made a decision to drop the ruler. The brain sent a message to the sensory nerves to, "grab it."
• The eyses sent a message to the brain, "here is the ruler." The brain made a decision to grab the ruler. The brain sent a message to the movement nerves, "grab it."
