What does it mean when a school is in a lockdown drill?

• It's the same as a fire drill and you need to immediately take a duck and cover position.

• It is a like an earthquake drill and you must assume the duck and cover position until it's all clear.

• It is a drill that teaches us how to react when danger is on or close to our campus.

• It is a moment for you to stop working and grab a drink of water.

It a lock down drill it is important to:

• Find your best friend and run off campus.

• Pay close attention to the teacher or adult that is responsible for you.

• Keep working quietly.

• Turn on the news to see what's going on on campus.

During a lock down drill students need to:

• Find a safe wall and try to stay out of sight of any open window

• Climb under your desk and sit quietly.

• Go to the closest corner.

During a lockdown drill it is important to:

• Call your parents or a family member.

• Snap chat your friends to let them know you won't be meeting them after school.

• Close the blinds and cover any window, where a perpetrator might be able to locate a person.

• Be sure your phone is on incase your family calls you.

During a lockdown drill it is important to...

• Move under a desk, next to someone you are comfortable with.

• Turn off or silence all cell phones, computers, or tech equipment.

• Run quickly to the bathroom, in case you won't be able to0 go for awhile.

When you are notified of a lockdown drill:

• Walk directly to your assigned spot on campus.

• Call your parents or a family member to let them know.

• Remain in the classroom or designated area.

• Freak out!!!

When you are in a lock down on campus, it is very important for you to:

• Go to the door and see if anyone is coming.

• Look out the window and check to see where the danger is.

• Sit where your safe wall/spot is absolutely quiet and wait for instructions.

• as long as necessary to be sure of student safety.

• 3-4 days
