What is communication?

• a way to talk to people
• talking
• exchanging information between people
• the ability to communicate

Why is communication important? 

• to gossip with friends
• to get information, let people know what you want, need and like, and to solve problems
• you can find out what other people like
• you can tell people to leave you alone

Being effective or good at communication means....

• you have skills
• you can talk well
• That you have good interpersonal communication skills
• you are a person

Having interpersonal communication skills means....

• that you are skilled at one type of communication 
• that you are skilled at using all types of communication 

When communication is done face-to-face that means... 

• you message someone online
• you talk on the phone
• you face time someone who is far away
• you are right next to the person you are communicating with

Good communication helps build better....

• relationships 
• buildings
