Polar bears are the largest bears in the world. They are very strong and have razor sharp teeth. Polar bears are talented swimmers. They swim very well by using their huge paws that are the size of a dinner plate! They have a thick layer of fat under their fur to keep them warm and dry. Their skin is actually black and their fur is translucent, which appears to be white. Polar bears have blue tongues!

Apples and oranges are both types of fruit. Apples can be red, yellow, or green, but oranges are mostly orange. They are about the same size and both grow on trees. Most Red Delicious apples are harvested in the fall, on the other hand Valencia oranges are ready to harvest as early as March.

Icy weather can be very dangerous. When roads are icy, vehicles can slide and cause accidents. As a result, drivers have to be very cautious. When water freezes on the branches of trees, the tree limbs can fall onto power lines and create power outages. Homes lose power which results in people leaving their homes to find warmer shelter. Schools and businesses can close because it is not safe for students and workers to travel.

A lot of people like to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You can try one for yourself! First, you will need to get out the bread, peanut butter and grape jelly...yum! Next, use a knife to spread the peanut butter all over the bread. After that, put some grape jelly on top of the peanut butter. Finally, put the two pieces together and eat your sandwich. It is delicious!

Bullying can be a big problem on some school's playgrounds. Bullies tease other classmates and cause trouble when they think their teacher isn't paying attention. Sometimes, bullies even start fights. Many schools have found ways to prevent bullying on the playground. Teachers are asked to monitor their students more closely. Kids are also taught to be more aware of bullying. They are asked to tell an adult if they notice someone being bullied. Together, students and teachers can work together to make playgrounds safer for everyone.
