Computer Lab Rules

What should you do when you first sit down at your computer?

• Put on the headphones
• Move it so you can see
• Wait for the teacher to give you directions

Which one is correct?

• I may change the background pictures on the computers.
• I may download and delete files and software on the computers.
• I may NOT change the backgrounds or the files on the computers.

This is how I should treat the computers:

• Bang on the keyboard
• Pull on the mouse
• Touch them carefully so they don't break
• Turn the speakers up as loud as I can

Which of these things is OK to do?

• Peel stickers off of the desktops, laptops, carts, and chords
  
• Unplug someone’s computer, if I am only joking
• Change the background picture whenever I choose
• Tighten or push in the chords if I fear they may be loose

Which of the following is OK to do regarding the use of equipment in the Lab?

• My computer is not working , so I ask for help
• If I know my friend’s password, I may log on as him/her
• I don’t need to log off if someone is logged on already
  
• My mouse does not work, so I change it myself

What should I do when I enter the Lab? 

• Sit down and wait for instructions before anything else
• Sit down and play in the computer until I get instructions
• Listen to music while I wait
• Finish my snack in the lab

Which is NOT something you should do in the computer lab?

• I may print whatever I want 
• I may get up and borrow a pencil from the pencil cup
• I may ask permission to go to the bathroom
• I may ask questions when I need to

What websites should I access?

• YouTube

• Any game sites

• As long as it doesn't have any bad stuff, I'm good.

• Only those that are assigned or approved for today's class.

Can I change anything on the Desktop?

• Only the wallpaper

• I can delete any unused Desktop Icons

• I shouldn't change anything because it makes it difficult for other classes.

• It's fine, it doesn't really matter.

If you're working in the lab, can you talk?

• No. There is no place for talking in the lab.

• I'm expected to collaborate, quietly, with others in my class.

• As long as I whisper.

• I don't like talking so it doesn't matter to me anyway.
