What are the elements of "rule #1?"

• Arrive to class on time, enter quietly, dress properly

• Arrive to class on time, properly dressed, wearing your ID

When are phone and other electronics permitted in class?

• When you finish your work

Why do we have a seating chart?

• Because you won't be able to choose your spot at work, and to create and maintain a more orderly, positive learning environment.

• Because if we didn't, students would talk to their friends during the entire class and not learn anything.

• Because the teacher is on a power trip.

• No reason. That's just the way it is.

Under what conditions is it permissible to drink in class?

• Whenever you want.

• When you're drinking water.

• Never.

• When you're drinking from a resealable container.

When is it permissible to eat in class?

• When the teacher says you can and/or if you have a medical condition that requires it.

• Never.

• Whenever you're hungry.

• If a classmate gives you food.

How many bathroom sign-outs do you get each quarter?

• 1

How can you avoid using a bathroom pass?

• Arrive before the bell rings and ask the teacher if you can go.

• Tell the teacher it's an emergency.

• You don't need to have a pass to go to the bathroom.

• Never. You always have to sign-out for the bathroom.

• Instruction

• Guest speaker

• Testing

• Independent work

If the teacher asks you to stop talking you should

• Glare, sigh, and put your head down on your desk.

• Continue your conversation.

• Take out your phone and text.

• Stop talking.

What is cyberbullying?

• bullying someone in an airplane

• making friends on the Internet

• passing someone a mean note

• the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.
