• Hands even with waist

• Hands lower than elbows

• Hands higher than elbows

• Doesn't matter

What destroys the most pathogens on your hands during hand hygiene

• Hot water, the hotter the better, who needs fingerprints, burn them off!

• Friction

• soap

• Hand sanitizer (everytime)

Hand sanitizer is not used...

• Ever!

• When your hands are visibly soiled

• Between patients

• after removing gloves

Direction of drying hands

• Fingertips to fingertips and back down rubbing vigorously
• Fingertips to forearms
• Forearms to fingertips
• Doesn't matter everything is clean

If your hands touch the inside of the sink while you are washing you should

• Hope the teacher didn't see you. No one will ever know and integrity is not your thing

• Start your washing time over

• Dry your hands and start again

• Keep on washing

How do you clean under your fingernails with hand hygiene

• By rubbing your palms together

• With friction

• With an orange stick or wood stick

• With paper towel while drying

How are your hands rinsed?

• From wrists to the fingertips.

• From the fingertips to the wrist.

• Makes no difference!

What is done with the paper towel at the end of hand hygiene?

• Thrown on the floor for someone else to pick up
• Thrown in the waste basket
• Put in my pocket until later
• I use my pants to dry my hands, saves trees!

What is used to turn off the faucets

• The paper towel I used to wash my hands

• A clean dry paper towel

• My scrub top

• Elbow

When using hand sanitizer, how long do you rub your hands together

• For at least 30 seconds

• For at least 15-20 seconds

• For at least 5-10 seconds
