What is Baptism?

• The power of the Holy Spirit

• When we are welcomed into the Body of Christ, receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and cleansed from original sin.

• When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

• When we confess our sins to the priest and tell God that we are sorry.

What is Confirmation?

• The Bishop prays that the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit will be strengthened and sealed within us.

• We gather together and listen to God's Word.

• Bring God's healing grace to us when we are sick.

• Bishop ordains deacons, priests, and Bishops to show Christ's love by serving the Church.

What is the Eucharist?

• We receive gifts from God.

• We receive the Holy Spirit.

• We receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

• We receive healing power from God.

What is Reconciliation?

• When the priest anoints our forehead and hands with oil.

• When you confess your sins to the priest and tell God that we are sorry.

• When you are blessed by the Bishop to follow God's words.

• When you make promises to love each other and remain together always.

What is Anointing of the Sick?

• A man and a woman ask God to bless them.

• Bishop ordains deacons, priests, and Bishops to show Christ's love by serving the Church.

• The priest gives us a penance to help us complete our act of sorrow, and he prays the prayer of absolution to foregive those sins.

• The priest anoints our forehead and hands with Oil of the Sick and prays that God will strengthen us and heal us in body and spirit.

What are the two sacraments of service?

What is Marriage?

• We receive God's grace and our relationship with Him is repaired.

• When we are near death, the sacrament also offers spiritual strength.

• The man is given his vestments and vows to be an obedient servant of God.

• When a couple is married, they come before God and the Church and make vows, or promises, to love each other and remain together always.

What happens during Holy Orders?

• They give each other a ring as a sign of promise.

• Bishops prays that we are strengthened with the power of the Holy Spirit.

• Bishop ordains deacons, priests, and Bishops to show Christ's love by serving the Church.

• We receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and are cleansed from original sin.
