When is it okay to get out of your seat?

• When the teacher is talking

• During independent work time

• When the teacher is teaching

• When the teacher is not teaching or talking.

When is it not okay to use the bathroom or get a drink?

• During independent work time.

• After the teacher has given all directions and instructions.

• When the teacher is giving instructions and directions.

• The beginning of the hour or at the end of the hour.

When you need help what should you do?

• find Ms. McAninch and hunt her down.

• Follow Ms. McAninch around the classroom until she notices you.

• Raise your hand quietly and wait until Ms. McAninch comes to you.

• Blurt out loud "Ms. McAninch I need your help" or "Can you come here"

When should you sharpen your pencil?

• When the teacher is giving directions or is talking to the class.

• During independent work time.

• When you are doing group/partner activities.

• When you don't need to use a pencil at the moment.

When the teacher's phone rings what should you sound like?

• Students shout out to the teacher that the phone is ringing.

• continue talking when the teacher answers the phone

• students answer the phone without permission from the teacher

• be silent so she can hear the other person on the phone.

Where do you store ELA materials or assignments in the classroom

How do you enter the classroom?

• Come in silently. Sit down at your desk and start your bell work for the day. Read when finished.

• Come in talking. Go over to the corner and catch up with your friends.

• Going to a friends desk and stand there and talk until the teacher tells you to sit down.

• Come in and it at your desk and wait.
