Chapter 16: Salvation by Grace

Salvation:

• being chosen from the water

• getting into a safe boat

• the act of being saved or rescued from the consequences of sin

• having been chosen from the slave market

Grace:

• something given but not earned

• saving someone from being hurt

• working hard to get the best

• never earning or receiving anything good

Reconciliation:

• the act of bringing glue to someone

• the act of bringing someone a new relationship

• the act of being brought back into a relationship

• being glued back together after being broken

Works:

• actions; doing something to try to earn a reward

• hard labor outside

• being nice, all the time

• the insides of something

Mercy:

• being helpful to others

• showing kindness when someone deserves punishment

• a free gift not earned

• being miserable even though one should be happy

We have been saved by grace, through ______________________.

Someone who is a sinner needs to __________________________ in order to be saved.

• admit that they need help and ask Christ for it through His sacrifice

• work really hard to always be good and never make a mistake

Why did God give us free salvation through grace?

• so that we can brag that we did it all ourselves

• because He knew we were too silly to ever be able to make good choices

• because He wanted us to admit we needed help and not be able to brag

The thief on the cross next to Jesus showed faith by
