STAAR strategy 1- Finding Key Details in a Diagram

First thing you should do to find details is

• Review the diagram or picture?

• Read question carefully

• Read only 1st answer choice

• Underline the entire question to look for details

What should you do with answer choices that absolutely do not apply?

• Re-read

• Pick the answer choice as your correct answer

• Translate them to another language

• Cross out answer choices that do not appy

Strategy 2 - Interpreting information from an excerpt

To answer a test item question with an excerpt you must

• have specific background knowledge on the topic
