What is the 3 Read Strategy?

• You read the passage really fast 3 times and answer questions.

• You skim the passage, then read and jot notes. The third read is where you read Q & As and go back to re-read the passage for the answer.

• Read each paragraph 3 times.

• Read the question 3 times then answer it.

Why is it important to read passages more than 1 time?

• Because Mrs. B says so...

• Because then I can read it in funny voices

What do you do if you're stuck on a question?

• Try to find the correct answer (give yourself time), and if you still can't figure it out, skip it and come back at the end.

• Give up & Guess.

• Keep working until you find the answer.

• Skip and forget to go back to it.

What do you do if you think 2 answers look right?

• If it is a math question, try to solve the problem again - check for any errors you may have made.

• If it is a reading test, remember - GOLDILOCKS - not too much, not too little

• Do "eeny meeny meiny mo" until you find the correct answer
