What does the Eighth Commandment forbid?

• Adultery.
• False testimony.

Why should we not give false testimony?

• Because we might go to jail for it.
• Because you can't fool all the people all the time.
• Because we fear and love God.

We should not lie about

• our neighbor (anyone).
• good people.
• bad people.

When someone slanders us, we should

• get even.
• take their actions in the kindest possible way.
• get them back even worse.

To lie means to

• speak what you know isn't true.
• say something that is true, even though it hurts.
• make a mistake in something you say without knowing it.

What does the Bible say about gossip?

• It's okay to reveal information about others, as long as it is true.
• It's okay to listen to gossip as long as we don't spread it.
• Gossip betrays a confidence. We should put the best construction on everything.

Who was the first to practice lies and deceit?

• Adam.
• Eve.
• The devil.

What happens when someone lies?

• All is well if no one finds out.
• No one is hurt because lies are harmless.
• Lies hurt people and cause trouble.

What lie is a good lie?

• No lie is a good lie.
• Little white lies are okay.
• A lie is good if you mean well.

When does God want us to tell the truth?

• Only in a court of law, under oath.
• All the time, unless we need to lie to keep someone out of trouble.
• All the time.
