On the morning of the test the TA should:

• Do all three of these!!

• In Mrs. Bustillos' office, count test booklets and initial out on the Materials Control Form.

• Start the test no later than 8:30.

• Check out materials from Mrs. Bustillos between 7:15 and 7:45.

The following is included in the description of "active monitoring":

• Confirming that students are working only on that day's test

• Reminding students to record their answers on their answer documents

• Encouraging students to stay on task

• All of the above

How often should you let students know about the time left to test?

• Hourly (orally or in writing) until the final hour when you can communicate the time in shorter intervals.

• TA's are not required to tell students how much time is left to test.

• At your discretion.

• This only applies to students with extended time.

A score code of ___ must be marked for each student who finishes a subject test administered.

How should seating charts be completed?

What response should be given to a student who asks for clarification of the prompt?

• The test administrator may read aloud, translate or sign the writing prompt to any student who requests this assistance. The test administrator may change, add to, or explain the writing prompt. The test administrator may not interpret or make suggestions to the student about how to respond.

• The test administrator may read aloud the writing prompt to any student who requests this assistance. The test administrator cannot translate the prompt or elaborate on the prompt age. The test administrator may not give ideas or provide an outline.

• The test administrator may read aloud, translate or sign the writing prompt to any student who requests this assistance. The test administrator may change, add to, or explain the writing prompt. The test administrator may interpret or make suggestions to the student about how to respond.

May school personnel discuss test questions?

• No person may view, reveal, or discuss the contents of a test booklet or online assessment before, during, or after a test administration. 
• No person may view, reveal, or discuss the contents of a test booklet or online assessment before or after a test administration. 
• If circumstances necessitate that a test booklet or online assessment be examined, permission must first be obtained from the district testing coordinator.

What is the policy regarding students recording answers on an answer document?

• All answers must be marked on an answer document with a pencil or pen by the end of the allowable time period. Students are not allowed to record or transcribe answers onto their answer document after the allowable time period has ended.

What is our campus practice for smart devices (cell phones, watches, etc.) on the day of each test?

• Tell students to turn their phones and watches off.

• Have students show you the smart devices and put them in their backpacks.

• Have all students get their phones and watches from their lockers/backpacks. The TA must physically watch students power the device off and the TA must store the device in a locked cabinet.

The test administrator is allowed to say all of the following statements to students during the test EXCEPT__________________.

• “You have not recorded your answers on the answer document. Please go back and mark your answers on it now.”

• "I can't answer that for you; just do the best you can."

• "All of your answers must be recorded before the end of the four-hour time period."

• "You may not turn in your test until the end of the four-hour time period."
