What happened to Leslie?

• She was taken by a spirit in Terabithia

• She died in a car crash

• She went to Terabithia by herself. While she was swinging on the rope it broke, she fell into the water, and she hit her head on something and drowned.

• She and Jess had a fight and were not friends anymore

Why did Jess keep running and running? How does this prove that it is still the rising action and not the climax?

• He was running away from home. He wasn't happy with his family

• Running helps Jess feel normal again

• He kept running so he could forget what happened and pretend he never met Leslie

• He thinks if continues to run he will keep Leslie from being dead. It is still the rising action because he is still have trouble facing his fears.

What does Jess imagine when he wakes up in the middle of the night?

• He thinks Leslie’s death was just a dream. He plans on going over to Leslie’s house to talk to her about his fears of Terabithia

• He dreams about one of his imaginary animals from his drawings

• He imagines that he is back in Washington with Miss Edmund

• Jess imagines he is with Leslie and they go to Terabithia

What is going on with Jess during breakfast?

• He isn't feeling well so his mother gives him more pancakes
