Photoshop Illustrator Typography Vocab

Lets you select objects and groups by clicking or dragging over them. You can also select groups within groups and objects within groups.

To add or remove objects from the selection, hold down Shift and click or drag around the objects you want to add or remove.

These tools allow you to select precise areas of an image by drawing or tracing the selection outline. There are three of them available:

Use the Line Segment tool when you want to draw one straight line segment at a time.

Position the pointer where you want the line to begin, and drag to where you want the line to end.

You can use this tool in conjunction with the shape tools to create complex shapes.

This tool creates paths and shapes which can be duplicated and manipulated to create complex selections, masks, and objects. Unlike the Brush Tool and Pencil Tools, which "draw" pixels onto your image, this always creates a vector path when used.

Lets you select individual anchor points or path segments by clicking on them, or select an entire path or group by selecting any other spot on the item. You can also select one or more objects in a group of objects.

It allows you to zero in or out of an image quickly.

To use the Tool, click on the portion of your image that you want to zoom into. To move out, hold down the OPTION key and click with the tool.
