MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

15 mins • 1 pt

Robert Heller was the fourth of six sons born to his parents. He grew up poor and always kept the plight of those who didn't have much in the back of his mind. When he became the mayor in 1910, his first official act was to instruct the city police to visit the poorest neighborhood in the city and provide every family with a crisp twenty-dollar bill and take down all the names of the children. The next day, he established a school in a neighborhood every other politician had abandoned. Because of Mayor Heller's generosity, dozens of children who might otherwise have died of malnutrition grew up to become doctors, teachers, and business owners. Heller's act single-handedly changed the face of the city.

MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

15 mins • 1 pt

Narcissus was a handsome young boy, so handsome that almost everyone who met him commented on his remarkable good looks. One day, he met a nymph named Echo in the forest. Echo, of course, fell immediately in love with Narcissus. Sadly, Narcissus cruelly rejected her, pushing her away and running into the forest. Stung by the boy's cruelty, Echo used magic on Narcissus so that he could love no one but himself. Day after day, he sat by the river bank staring at his own reflection. Eventually, he was transformed into a flower with a bright yellow face. Those walking by the banks of a river can still see the ancestors of Narcissus, leaning over the water, staring at their reflection.
