Always point a test tube that is being heated

During an experiment

If you break a test tube,

• you should carefully pick up the pieces with your hands and put them in the trash can

• you should go to the storage room and get another test tube

• you should sweep it under the table so the next group can clean it up

Hot glassware

• should be tested using the back of the hand

• should be allowed to cool before moving or immersing in water

• can shatter if immersed in cold water
