What is English 2H?

• Regular sophomore English for regular folks.

• The class my mom made me take!

• A class meant to challenge a group of awesome, wonderful, bright students in preparation for those who choose to move on to English 3AP and other AP classes.

• What? I'm not supposed to be in this class! :D

What are the expectations? How hard will this class really be?

• Do your work. Don't procrastinate. You will be expected to do everything, all the time. It is not one of those classes were you can sometimes do you your work. Expectations are high. Be 100% every day. If you do this, you will be just fine!

• It's not too hard. You can get away with not reading your books and relying on sparknotes.

what types of activities do you think you can expect?

• making posters, using markers and colored pencils for projects

• No talking, total silence, work independently 100% of the time

• Socratic Seminars, weekly vocab, grammar, 10 essays, research, google slides presentations, Study Guides, in- class discussion, non-fiction articles, and LOTS of Discussion on Ethos, Pathos, Logos.

• Book reports.

• Worksheet practice, weekly review of sentence structure, Khan Academy, and No Red Ink program- Bring your chromebook daily!

• Grammar? We didn't do that last year!

• We aren't. I'm already smart. :D

• 50% essays, grammar, vocab, study guides, handouts, annotation, presentations 40% group discussion, socratic seminar 10%

• 80% essays, grammar, vocab, study guides, handouts, annotation, presentations 10% group discussion, socratic seminar 10%

• 10% essays, grammar, vocab, study guides, handouts, annotation, presentations 40% group discussion, socratic seminar 50%
