Mr. Allen Classroom Rules and Procedures

If you need to use the bathroom, you should...

• Just leave on your own, it's all good

• find Mr. Allen and politely ask him if you can get a pass signed to go use the restroom.

• Sign your pass and leave quietly

• yell as loud as you can that you have to go to the bathroom and then run there quickly so you don't have an accident.

If your chromebook is dead or forgotten you should...

• Ask Mr. Allen for a light yellow pass to go to the media center and get a loaner.

• Quietly hope you don't get caught without yours

• Ask Mr. Allen for one of his extra chargers he provides kids

• Make one out of cardboard to make it seem like you have one.

When working with others you should

• pretend as though you are the most important person on the planet and make everything about you

• use the loudest voice possible so you know people won't miss anything you said

• respect other's opinions and ideas, while adding your thoughts at a reasonable volume when it's appropriate

• Never say a word to anyone in your group so it's super awkward and people just stare at you for lengthy periods of time waiting for you to join the part

If you forgot a pencil for class you should...

• Just use a pen, there isn't much of a difference

• Ask a friend or classmate if you can borrow one and then return it when you are done

• Go to Mr. Allen's pencil tub in the front of the room and borrow one, while leaving a shoe behind at the book shelf as collateral

• Just take one from a friend or Mr. Allen without anyone knowing and then leave with it so we run out pencils by Thanksgiving

If you want to know what we are doing in class on a particular day you should...

• Come in and ask Mr. Allen what we are doing today as you walk in so he can answer the same question for the 7,550th time in his life.

• Sit at your seat and fall asleep, because you don't really care

• Ask a student from a previous class in the door way what we are doing so no one else can get through the door between classes

• Check the white board in the upper left hand corner to see what the goal is for the day and what the agenda is.

If you wonder what we have for homework or assignments coming up you should...

• Check the dry erase agenda page to the left of the white board to see what assignments and events are planned for the week.

• Shout out obnoxiously "Do we have homework today?" so Mr. Allen gets real triggered and annoyed

• Ignore it because you don't do homework anyway

• Ask a different student in 6th grade hoping that this kid has his or her life organized a bit more than you do and knows what is going in school

NFL picks are completed...

• Everyday there is an NFL game

• All year long

• Usually on Fridays, but it depends if we have school on Friday

• Ha! Like we have time to fill out NFL picks, this is school!

If something is completed on paper...

• you don't have to worry about putting your first and last name on it, I'll figure out which of the 150 students it belongs to

• You can write your initials, Mr. Allen is super smart, he can figure it out

• Your first name is fine

• Write your first and last name so I can actually read it

Cell phones should be...

• brought everyday to class

• should be kept in your pocket on silent

• kept in your locker

• turned into Mr. Allen when you walk in the door each day

The lab area in our science class...

• is yours to use when ever you want, feel free to go back there as you please.

• is like a maze, feel free to play hide and seek if you'd like.

• will be used often, but wait until Mr. Allen tells you to go back there

• is basically the same as the other part of the classroom, if you want to sit there with your stuff, feel free.
