Which of the following are you NOT supposed to do when You Enter the Classroom:

• Wait at the door (on the wall), so we can greet each other.

• Walk into the classroom quietly. No Voices that I can Distinguish.

• Get your materials, and Go directly to your seat, except if you are checking out a book. (Once in the room, do NOT leave.)

• Check the board for the day’s lessons, and Take out supplies needed for the day’s lessons.

• Run like a wild goose!

What to Do When You Need to Go to the Restroom (Emergency Only):

• Do NOT interrupt an initial teaching lesson or group and only ask During the first or last 10 minutes of class.

  With permission, Pick up the restroom pass.

• Take and/or use your cell phone when going to the Restroom.

• Do NOT ask for permission, and Sign the “In and Out” Book, when you leave and when you return.

What to Do When We are Rotating Stations and/or During Transition Time:

• Waste Time and/or Socialize.

• Go Immediately and quietly to the Area with All Necessary Materials and Begin the Activity.

When we have visitors or in my absence:

• Greet Adult Visitors. Be self-directed. Work from the assignments on the board.

• Maintain normal class demeanor, which means following ALL of the rules-ALL of the time.

• Complete your WORK, and STAY SEATED.

• If a substitute teacher is needed, you are to treat the substitute with even MORE RESPECT than you give to me. Substitute teaching is a VERY challenging job. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR THEM. If you choose to misbehave with a substitute teacher, then you are choosing consequences. Your parents WILL BE NOTIFIED, and you will receive a LUNCH DETENTION and/or REFERRAL. If the behavior continues, you will receive a referral to the office.

What should you do during Class dismissal?

• Teacher dismisses class, not the bell. Stay in your seat, until Mr. Hernandez dismisses you and you must clean Up Your Area; place all books back on the shelf neatly; and take ALL of your belongings with you.
