• Identical products are produced, usually on an assembly line

• Producing chocolate
• Making cakes
• Producing Rolls Royce cars

An advantage of flow production is

• A greater need for labour skills
• Workers can work on any part of the assembly line
• High volume of products are produced
• Economies of scale mean products are more expensive

A disadvantage of flow production is

• Mass produced products are of poor quality

• There must be a constant demand for the products

• Materials can arrive at anytime

• Skilled workers are needed
