The CRAAP test

The C in the test stands for

• CREDIT: where did your info come from

• CHECK: to see if the info is right

• CURRENCY: to see when your info was published or updated

The R in the test stands for

• Reliability: to see if the info is right.

• Relevance: to see if the information relates to your topic

• Required: to see if the info is necessary.

The AA stands for

• Acceptable & Accessible: to make sure the info is age appropriate

• Acknowledge & Answer: to make sure the info is related and answers your question.

• Authority & Accuracy: to make sure the author of the info is reliable and that the information is accurate with working links and research.

The P stands for:

• People: to make sure people can read your work

• Purpose: to determine why the information is on the resource

• Precaution: to make sure you are careful before using the information.
