What is a summary for story?

Esperanza and Mama are searching for a better life away from Tio Luis. Their servants agree to hide them in exchange for money; however, there is no money to give. Mama, has to find a way to make money to keep her and Esperanza safe so no one discovers where they are going or where they will be hiding.

Esperanza and Mama are moving to California in search of Esperanza long lost father. He has been injured during the war and has lost his memory. Mama is determined to find him to help bring her family back together. However, Esperanza is afraid something bad will happen and that they will get lost along the way.

Esperanza and Mama are moving to California with their servants to avoid having to live with Tio Luis. It is difficult for both of them but Mama is determined to make the best of the situation even though Esperanza is disgusted by the people and conditions and refuses to accept that this situation is her new life.

Esperanza and Mama are used to living poor but are running away so no one can steal there newly found wealth. Esperanza finds it difficult to be around those that are poor because she does not want to be poor again. Mama is trying to make the best out of the situation but knows that Esperanza is paranoid.
