How can I use my body to communicate?

• Stand still so your audience knows it is a serious presentation

• Use your hands and body to emphasize every word

• Use your hands and body to support what you are saying, as you naturally would when speaking to a friend

What do you mean by making eye contact?

• Look at your audience in the eye often

• Look at one person in the room.

• Look at something else in the room, not a person

What do I do if I get stuck?

• Take a deep breath and try to repeat what you said.

• Just keep going. It doesn't matter if you miss details.

• Panic and give up

What can I do to have a loud enough voice?

• Speak like you normally do in class

• Speak like you are trying to call someone from across the field

• Speak from the stomach in a voice loud enough to be heard in the back.

• Do your best mouse impression

What if I'm nervous?

• Just try it and hopefully it will turn out okay.
• Take a deep breath and take your time.

What if I forget what I'm supposed to say?

• Just finish quickly and sit down

• Be calm, use my flashcards, find your place and continue

• Make eye contact with my friends and start to laugh nervously

• Look to Miss Rachel for help

Why is it important to introduce yourself and your topic?

• All of these are correct
• You are able to start out on the right foot
• It helps the audience to know when you are starting
• Everyone may not know you

To make sure you are well prepared you should

• Consider all of the possible questions others might ask
• Keep note cards nearby
• Put everything you need on the slide
• Make up answers when you aren't sure

A great way to ensure a positive audience reaction is to

• The person in the back
• The person in the front
• The teacher
• Co-presenters
