The first step to Stop and Jot is..

• Stop reading forever

• Stop reading when you've finished the whole article

Once you stop yourself at the end of chunk, what do you do next?

• Take a break for 30 minutes

• Highlight as much as possible

Why do active readers STOP reading every couple of paragraphs?

• They are tired

• They are wasting time

• They want to give their brain time to think about what they just read
