Some verbs use the reflexive pronoun only sometimes. When would the verb "lavar" not use the reflexive pronoun?
- Lavo el coche
- Me lavo el pelo

• When the speaker feels like saying the reflexive pronoun or not

• Only if the verb ends in "ar"

• when the action of "washing" is done to something or someone else

What is different in Spanish when you refer to a part of the body with a reflexive verb?
I paint MY nails.

• You translate exactly that. "Yo pinto mis uñas."

• You use the reflexive pronoun to show that it is an action done to yourself. Then use the normal "the" for nails - Yo me pinto las uñas. 

• You use the reflexive pronoun and "my" in front of the word nails. "Yo me pinto mis uñas."

• You just translate it to "I paint nails." Yo pinto uñas."
