Why are multiplication & division, as well as addition & subtraction grouped together in steps with each other?

• This is when you do whichever one comes first in the expression, because they are inverse/opposite operations to each other

• It was probably just a typing mistake.

• You always do multiplication before division, and you always do addition before subtraction, so I'm not sure why they are together.
