What is the First thing that you do when you come to class?

• Enter quietly.

• Sharpen pencils.

• Get a Dictionary.

• Get your Literacy Notebook and Portfolio.

Where do you turn in completed work?

• Hand it to Mrs. Logan.

• Put the assignment on Mrs. Logan's desk.

• Put the assignment in your cubby.

• Put the assignment in the Black Basket on Mrs. Logan's desk.

What do you do if you don't have a pencil?

• Tell Mrs. Logan.

• Quietly check one out at the board.

• Ask your friend across the room.

• Just wait and don't do anything.

At the end of class.....

• GO - the bell rang & I am out of here.

• Huddle at the door waiting for the bell to ring.

• Stand in groups talking, waiting for the bell to ring.

• Wait quietly at your group for Mrs. Logan to dismiss you after the bell rings.

To get my teacher's attention.....

• Keep repeating her name over & over until she responds.

• Poke her on the arm or shoulder to get her attention.

• Blurt out your question even if she is talking to another student or giving directions.

• Raise your hand & wait to be called upon.

Where do you get handouts for the day?

• In the basket when I enter the room.

• Ask Mrs. Logan at the door.

• In the caddy at my group.

• One of the student helpers will pass it out.

When do you pick up the handout(s) from the silver basket?

• As soon as Mrs. Logan mentions it.

• After the tardy bell rings.

• When I enter the classroom and pass by the silver basket.

• After Mrs. Logan asks for the 2nd or 3rd time if everyone has the handout.

I can get a kleenex, or sharpen my pencil ....

• At any time - I can get up and move around the room whenever I want.

• When my lead breaks or my nose is runny.

• While Mrs. Logan is giving directions, or another student is speaking.

• After raising my hand and using the hand signal(s )or asking Mrs. Logan.

The "hand signal" for asking for help is .....

• Three fingers.

• Two fingers.

• One finger.

• Four fingers.

I can go to the restroom....

• After raising my hand and receiving permission.

• Once a week.

• Before Mrs. Kellen's class.

• Not in the first 10, or last 10 minutes of class.
