The reconstruction was a success because it helped blacks get homes and jobs. Also it helped them get schools and educations as well. Also it gave African Americans their rights and able to vote. Another way the reconstruction was successful regard to African Americans was the freedmen's bureau which helped the freed black after the war was over. Which gave them lots of help and got them on their feet.
