Blessed are the poor in spirit means

• to be economically destitute

• being aware of your lowliness

• to be full of yourself due to abilities

• being evil in action, thought, and word

Blessed are the meek means

• gentle strength under control

• to overpower others for the sake of truth

• to be weak minded

• not standing up for the Truth

Blessed are those who mourn means

• to have sorrow for injustice in the world

• to have sorrow for our sinfulness

• to have sorrow for how Christ suffered for us

• all of the above

What does it mean to hunger and thirst for righteousness?

• passionately yearning for holiness

• being able to attain sinlessness

• perfection in thought and action

• desiring for all to know how right you are

What does it mean to be merciful?

• relieving the suffering of others

• choosing forgiveness with difficult people

• both A and B

What does it mean to be pure in heart?

• those who have read the whole Bible

• remaining consistently unstained by sin

• able to pray for intentions in Sainthood

• fully focused on God and things of God

Blessed are the peacemakers means

• using just anger to hold all accountable to their sins

• limiting gossip and slander in public arenas

• trying to defuse conflicts and restore relationships

• having the authority to end military battles

Being persecuted for the sake of righteousness means

• we are likely living out the first 7 Beatitudes

• being exulted by society due to our holiness

• we must avoid suffering at all costs

• Jesus will protect us from all afflictions
