Is this message a scam?

• Yes. We cannot be sure that it is really our teacher.

• No. Only your teacher is able to send you a message through class dojo.

A message from your school on the Parent's Gateway App:

Dear parents, there will be no school on Children's Day as it is a school holiday.

Is this message a scam?

• Yes. We cannot be sure the message is really from Westwood Primary School.

• No. Only Westwood Primary School is able to send your parents notifications through the parent's gateway app.

You were sick for 2 days and did not go to school. You receive a phonecall from your form teacher calling to ask if you were okay.

Which of the following should not be a reason for you to believe that he/she is really your teacher?

• You recognize your teacher's voice.

• Your teacher introduces himself or herself with the correct name.

• The person on the phone asks you to come out to meet him alone to collect your homework, even when you are sick.

You receive a phone call from a person claiming to be a kidnapper.

He says that he has kidnapped your grandmother, and wants you to give him all the money from your parent's room or he will harm your grandmother.

Is this a scam?

• Yes. I should immediately tell a trusted adult and let them handle it.

• No. I love my grandmother and must do what the kidnapper says.

Is this a fake news?

• Yes. If there is a school closure, your parents should receive a notice from the Parent's Gateway App.

• No. Because it looks real.

You receive an sms message that ends with:

If you do not forward this message to 10 people within 24 hours, somebody in your family will fall very sick!

Is this a scam?

• Yes. These are chain messages out to frighten children and are not real.

• No. Curses are real and I should be afraid!

You receive an Email from a Prince in Nigeria:

Hello my friend. I am Prince Ali Baba from Nigeria and I have 25 million dollars inheritance money from my father. I need help to transfer this money to Singapore and I will pay you 2 million dollars if you will help me.

Is this a scam? Should you reply this email?

• Yes it is a scam. Do not reply the email. Let a trusted adult know.

• No it is not a scam. I should reply to see how I can help this needy Nigerian Prince!

• No. This looks too good to be true. I should ask a trusted adult.
