What is the ruling of Madd Līn?

• When ma or na has a sukūn and before them, there is upper stroke. It must sit next to last ḥuṛūf of a word.

• When ya or wa has a sukūn and before them, there is upper stroke. It must sit next to last ḥuṛūf of a word.

• When ta or ba has a sukūn and before them, there is upper stroke. It must sit next to last ḥuṛūf of a word.

• When ya or wa has a sukūn and before them, there is forward stroke. It must sit next to last ḥuṛūf of a word.

How to read Madd Līn?

• Read it with 2, 4 or 6 ḥaṛakah when you continue your recitation

• Read it with 2 ḥaṛakah when you stop your recitation

• Read it with 4 or 6 ḥaṛakah when you stop your recitation

• Read it with 2, 4 or 6 ḥaṛakah when you stop your recitation
