What does it mean to CONJUGATE a verb?

• to study it

• to change it so that we know WHO is doing the action

We learned how to use the verb SER (to be). "SER" is in the infinitive (unchanged) form - what do you call words like, "soy," "eres," "somos," etc.?

• conjugations of the verb SER

We also have learned many -AR verbs - escuchar, estudiar, hablar...

In order to CONJUGATE these verbs (actually use them), what is the very FIRST step, once we know who is doing it?

• drop the -ar in order to make room for the new ending

• add the ending from the chart right onto the verb (i.e. hablaramos)
